Special needs person unVaccinated

This is from MOH website:

"COVID-19 Patients Who Are Unvaccinated By Choice To Be Responsible For Their Medical Bills

From 8 December 2021, we will begin charging COVID-19 patients who are unvaccinated by choice.

COVID-19 medical bills for those who are ineligible for vaccination will still be fully paid for by the Government, i.e. children under 12 years old or medically ineligible persons."

also in the news, eg CNA

This is a threat but I don't want to take the risk, the price to pay might be too high, may make me Berserk.

Govt and doctors are telling us .... chronic medical conditions, medical conditions not certified by doctors to be exempted, cancer patient, etc, should take the vaccine because it is proven SAFE.  They are pushing everyone to take the vaccine but they didn't say Spore Govt will be responsible for any side effects, especially if they didn't appear during that 'critical 30-60 mins' after a Covid jab.  Some people may have stronger resistance or may have slower body reaction and the unusual side effects surfaced few weeks later.  Some unlucky persons developed "unexplained" side effects eg my aunt (50+ years old, was in good health) who passed away last month, leaving two young teens.

The govt will not bear any costs or become responsible if anything happened that isn't "in their plan or watch list".   Therefore, if seizure is triggered and my child becomes harder to take care, in the govt's eyes, that child belongs to you.  You, as the parent are responsible to pay and care for your own child lifelong.  No medical support or anything will be offered.  You certainly won't hear this "sorry, we failed to foresee so we'll bear the responsibility of your child LIFELONG".

If you say this is related to Covid vaccine jab, person was perfectly fine before the jab, doctors in the hospital will straight away tell you there's no evidence.

My child's seizure is under control, I am very happy that her last outbreak was a few years ago.  Compared with other Angelman or special needs child, her seizure onset is something any parent should be happy with.

My aunt passed away in early Nov 2021.  Before she passed away she has visited GP and referred to hospital.  Warded and then discharged, couldn't find a cause.  After 2nd jab, her condition took a drastic change (not within a week), she was warded to hospital and given a jab ....something suitable to treat cancer.  Doctor saw no improvement and gave her another jab, a stronger one to "save her" but caused her to have heart failure.  Earlier was lungs then her heart!

My poor girl, the only unvaccinated person in the house, has been staying home since the day she graduated from Rainbow, year 2020.  Couldn't take her out and use her Spore Rediscover Vouchers or eat in restaurants.  Before this vaccination thingy was 'enforced', I kept her home to reduce her contact with others.  This is my way of protecting her.

Govt and doctors can't understand (or can't be bothered) how hard it is to care for a person with special needs, someone moving to adulthood and can't take care of herself.  Decision makers and doctors also don't have the desired empathy.

I hope my life can be smooth sailing and no hiccups.

If given a painless choice, I would rather end my life with her because I'm her main "producer".

To qualify for the VIFAP, individuals must be a Singapore Citizen, Permanent Resident or long-term pass holder who has received the COVID-19 vaccination under the NVP, and experienced a serious side effect that required inpatient hospitalisation, or caused persistent incapacity or disability, or was fatal. The serious side effect must be assessed by a doctor to be related to the individual’s COVID-19 vaccination.

The amount of goodwill financial assistance provided is fixed and dependent on the severity of the serious side effect. Pay-out will be based on the highest quantum eligible, and persons will be eligible for one pay-out only e.g. only $225,000 for death and permanent severe disability, regardless of hospital stay or treatment.

# no deaths have been attributed to the COVID-19 vaccines. The benefits of receiving COVID-19 vaccines continue to far outweigh the risks of vaccination.

# any member of the public may report adverse events and deaths to the VAERS system, regardless whether it is caused by vaccines or other factors. The reports are not required to be verified.

# MOH advises the public not to speculate and/or spread misinformation which may cause public alarm, and to refer to credible sources of information instead.

# Towards a COVID-19 Resilient Singapore
Even as we resume our transition towards living with COVID-19, we need to do so in a careful and controlled manner. We seek everyone’s cooperation to exercise social responsibility and cooperate with the SMMs which have been put in place. If you are offered a vaccination or booster dose, please also come forward and get vaccinated. These will ensure the current situation continues to remain stable, and allow us to progressively resume our social and economic activities.

# COVID-19 is like riding a bike downslope.  Left on its own, it will go faster and faster, and eventually we lose control of it and crash.    That is why we apply brakes, so that the bike goes down at a controlled speed, and we can arrive safely at our destination. There are three brakes – Safe Management Measures, vaccination and boosters, and border restrictions.

# 8 Nov - There was a recent case reported in the media on a senior who tested positive using ART kit and then subsequently passed away at home, and the family had difficulty having the body conveyed out of the residence. I read a follow-up letter from the Association of Funeral Directors, which said that the current MOH rules do not allow them to handle COVID-positive cases in residential premises.  So we will take the feedback and revisit the regulations. If they are unclear, we will improve them. We will also work closely with the National Environment Agency and some of the funeral directors to ensure that whatever revised regulations we have can allow them to safely handle COVID-positive cases who pass away at home.

# VDS concession for medically ineligible individuals will take effect from 1 December 2021. From 15 November 2021, such individuals can visit any General Practitioner (GP) clinic, or public or private healthcare institution to be certified as medically ineligible, subject to meeting the revised criteria articulated
